At the beginning of the year I made a resolution to remember a positive moment from each day and share it with all of you. As you may have noticed I’ve already broken it. Oops.
I have an abundance of things going on that need time (and stress) allocated each week to each task. My second semester of sophomore year at MSU just started this week. I’m going full time, and if I’m not in school, I’m either at work, at church, or spending time with Caleb.
I would like to revise my resolution to say that I will post the most joyful moments of my week each Sunday.
My moments for this week are:
1: I got a $1,000 per semester scholarship
2: One of my favorite little buddies in the nursery (and the world) turned a year old
3: I got my hair done!
4: I got matched with a Little in the Big Brother Big Sisters Program.
If you’re not familiar with the BBBS, it is an organization which matches disadvantaged kids with mentors from the community. You have to go through extensive interviews and background checks to even be considered. Matches can last for several years in which you take your Little to do fun things and help him/her by being a positive influence. I got the call this week that I was matched with a “Little” and the next step is to set up a meeting! I am so excited to have the opportunity to be a light for a child who needs it.
5: I was asked if I would be interested in serving on the preschool committee in my church. This is so important to me because my church is like an extended family to me and I so enjoy spending time there. It would be such an honor to help my church in any way. Nothing is set in stone, it’s in the earliest stages, but it’s a highlight nonetheless!
